Current mood:two steps forward, three steps
Current music:Evergrey - The Great Deciever

Random beats of blinding shockwaves.
Did I mention I am now enrolled in the Master of Finance and Banking Program here at the SU/FEBA. Well I mention it now :o) Belatedly as always :o) But who reads this journal anyway. This is a boring fact anyway :o) Sate Scholarship again. I will eventually pay enough when the green guys come and get me one day in order to complete that infamous obligatory military service… Try to catch me if you can :o)

There is a presentation of Chicago GSB this month at The Hilton here in Sofia (Bulgaria) but “Dress is business casual. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.”…
What does Business casual mean? If I go, I’ll go with my Pantera/”Vulgar Display of Power” T-Shirt and see what they mean by “business casual”… I’ll also take my military bag (мешка де :o), dyed in black with Pantera patches.

I’ve been listening to Type-O-Negative “Life is Killing Me” [Plus the seven bonus tracks] and Evergrey’s trhee albums all day… great music, people. Some of my Evergrey’s favorites: The Great Deciever [Recreation Day]; Watching the Skies [In Search Of Truth]; The Encounter [In Search Of Truth]; They are all very inspiring… I do not know why but I thought that a Power Of Omens/ Evergrey European tour would be a very good idea… only if they play here in Sofia of course :o)

Show respect for both yourself and management by avoiding things like jeans, sneakers, hats and T-shirts.
Finally, you shouldn't have to run out and buy an entire new wardrobe just for business casual days. Chances are you already own many of the items you need.
So now that you’ve figured out the rules and banished your suits to the back of the closet, here are a few ideas to bring you into the New Economy corporate culture.
For Men:
A sport coat instantly creates a pulled together look, especially in a business casual environment. It's also an ideal choice for client meetings or presentations. Pair up a black, navy blue or dark gray blazer with khakis or dark wool pants.
In addition to traditional dress slacks, khakis, Dockers, corduroys, wool flannel and linen slacks are also appropriate for the office, either with or without a blazer. Just because it's casual day, it doesn't mean you can turn up in wrinkled pants. Be sure to iron them beforehand.
Casual button-down oxford shirts are a great alternative to dress shirts, with or without a tie. Skip the loud prints like plaid, and opt for basic white, chambray or pinstripe.
Shoes are an afterthought for many men, but unkempt footwear can ruin an otherwise polished look. Oxfords and loafers in brown or black are a good match for khakis or corduroys, but save the sneakers and hiking boots for the weekend.

Business Casual

Business casual is a broad category. At the top end (Corporate Business Casual), you might wear a suit, however it need not be matched (for example, you could wear a navy jacket with grey dress pants or skirt).
A more casual level of this category includes: shirt (with no jacket; tie optional) and dress skirt or pants. You could also wear a sweater with dress pants/skirt.
You may want to wear the upper end of Business Casual. This allows you to look professional, yet should the work environment be unexpectedly casual, you can remove the jacket and look instantly dressed-down.
Unless otherwise specified, Business Casual is the dress code for company information sessions. Many company information sessions at Queen's are hosted by corporate companies, so Corporate Business Casual may be most appropriate. Check the company website or information if you are unsure.

What is Business Casual?
Men:
 Not expected to wear ties
Business or sports jacket is appropriate
 Stylish, solid colored pants
Long-sleeved solid or striped dark shirt
 Dark socks
 Matching belt and shoes
° ° °
Jeans, tennis shoes, tight or short skirts, t-shirts and sweatshirts are never considered business casual.
Business casual does not apply to grooming standards. Your appearance should remain neat and respectable. This includes nicely pressed clothing, polished shoes, and conservative accessories.
